The Haunted Driver Drive's
The Haunted Driver Drive's
In the outskirts of a sleepy town, stories circulated about a lunatic who once drove the night roads—his name was Karan, a cab driver with a twisted reputation. Karan wasn’t always mad; they said something snapped in him after a tragic accident. One night, years ago, he was behind the wheel when his family—his wife and daughter—were killed in a head-on collision caused by his reckless driving.
Karan survived, but not his sanity. He was found at the scene laughing uncontrollably, cradling his wife’s lifeless body. The locals said he was never the same after that. He became obsessed with driving—every night, rain or shine, he would pick up passengers. But soon, those passengers began disappearing. The few who survived told harrowing stories: Karan drove like a demon, whispering strange things, eyes burning with rage and sorrow. Eventually, he vanished too—along with his cab.
Years later, a young man named Ajay was returning home after a wedding, traveling along a deserted highway at night. His bike had broken down, and after waiting hours for help, he saw headlights approaching in the distance. It was an old, beaten cab. Ajay waved frantically, relieved beyond belief.
The cab slowed to a halt, and the driver leaned out the window. He had wild eyes, a patchy beard, and a sinister grin plastered across his face. "Need a ride, friend?" the driver asked.
Ajay hesitated for a moment. Something about the driver’s grin made his skin crawl. But the cold night air and the long, empty road left him no choice. "Yeah, thanks," Ajay muttered, climbing into the back seat.
As soon as the door shut, the cab surged forward with a violent jerk. The driver’s hands gripped the wheel too tightly, his knuckles white. Ajay noticed the way the man’s eyes darted around, as if seeing things that weren’t there.
"You know," the driver said, his voice oddly cheerful, "I lost my family on a road just like this. One mistake... One little mistake, and poof! Gone. Just like that."
Ajay shifted uneasily in his seat. "I'm... sorry to hear that," he offered, unsure of what else to say.
The driver let out a strange, high-pitched laugh. "Yeah... but it’s okay. I’ve learned how to drive perfectly now. No mistakes anymore. No accidents!"
The speedometer needle climbed higher as the cab barreled down the dark highway. Trees blurred into streaks, and the night seemed to close in around them. Ajay clutched the seat, panic rising in his chest.
"Uh, sir... can you slow down a bit?" Ajay asked nervously.
The driver’s grin widened, his eyes flickering with madness. "Slow down? Oh no, no, no. If we slow down, they’ll catch us."
"Who?!" Ajay gasped, glancing out the windows at the empty road.
"Them," the driver whispered, his grin faltering for a moment. "They’re always watching. Always waiting. My wife... my little girl... they talk to me, you know. Tell me to keep driving. So I do. I drive and drive and drive."
The cab swerved dangerously close to the edge of the road, the tires screeching. Ajay’s heart pounded in his chest. "Pull over! I’ll get out here!"
The driver turned to face him, his grin now a grotesque sneer. "No one gets out until we reach the end of the road. And we’re not even close, friend."
Ajay tried the door handle, but it was jammed. "Please, stop the car!" he shouted.
The driver laughed hysterically, his voice echoing through the cab. "You think this is just a ride? No, no... this is a journey. A journey to the place where everything ends!"
The headlights suddenly dimmed, and the road ahead twisted into strange, impossible shapes—curves that bent the wrong way, trees that seemed to reach out toward the cab. Ajay felt like they were no longer on a normal highway but somewhere else... somewhere they weren’t supposed to be.
The driver’s voice dropped to a chilling whisper. "We’re almost there. Can you hear them? They’re waiting for me... and for you too."
Ajay could hear it now—a faint, haunting whisper, like children laughing and a woman sobbing, coming from somewhere deep within the cab. He pressed himself against the door, desperate to escape. The speedometer hit its limit, the car shaking violently as it raced toward an unseen destination.
Suddenly, the headlights illuminated a figure standing in the middle of the road—a woman holding a child. Ajay screamed, but the driver didn’t slow down. Instead, his grin twisted into a manic expression of joy. "We’ve found them!"
The car plowed into the figures—but instead of a crash, there was only darkness.
The next morning, Ajay was found on the side of the highway, shivering and muttering incoherently. He was alive, but the cab was nowhere to be seen. When the police asked him what had happened, all Ajay could say was:
"He wouldn’t stop... He just kept driving... and they were waiting for him."
Some say Karan’s cab still roams the highways at night, picking up passengers who never make it to their destination. And if you ever find yourself stranded on a lonely road and see a cab with a grinning driver?
Don’t get in. Because once you’re
inside, there’s no turning back... and the road never ends.
Season 2 will come soon...
